10 Rules for dating my daugher
10 Rules for dating my daughter:
1) If you pull up in front of my house and honk, you'd better be dropping off a package, because you're not picking anything up.
2) Do not touch my daugher in front of me. You may glance at her so long as you do not peer at anything below her neck. If you cannot keep your eyes or hands off my daughter's body, I will remove them for you.
3) I am aware that that it is considered fashionable for boys your age to wear their trousers so loosely that they appear to be falling off their hips. Please don't take this as an insult, but you and all your friends are complete idiots. Still, I want to be fair and open minded about the issue. So I propose this compromise. You may come to the door with your underwear showing, and your pants 10 sizes too big, and I will not object. However, to ensure that your clothes do not in fact come off during the course of your date with my daughter, I will take my electric nail gun and fasten your trousers securly to your waist.
4) I'm sure that your told that in today's world, sex without utilizing a barrier method can kill you. Allow me to elaborate . When it comes to sex, I am the barrier and I will kill you.
5) In order for us to get to know each other, we should talk about sports, politics, and other issues of the day. Please do not do this. The only information I require from you is an indication of when you expect to have my daughther safely back at my house. And the only word I need to hear from you on the subject is "early".
6) I have not doubts that you're a popluar fellow, with many opportunities to date other girls. Frankly, I would much rather you did, however, if you absolutely must date my daugher, you must go out with my little girl, you will continue to date no one else but her until she is finished with you. If you make her cry I will make you cry.
7) If you stand in front of my hallway waiting for my daughter to appear, and more than an hour goes by, do not sigh or fidget. If you wanted to be on time for the movie, you should not be dating. My daughter is putting on her makeup, a process that can take longer than painting the sisteen chapel. Instead of just standing there, you may demonstrate to me why I should tolerate your existance by doing such things like changing the oil in my car.
8) The following places are not appropriate for a date with my daughter: places where there are beds, sofas or anything softer than a wooden stool. Places where there are no parents, policemen, or nuns within eye site. Places where there is darkness. Places where there is dancing, holding hands, or happiness. Places where the ambient tempurature is warm enough to enduce my daughter to wear shorts, tank tops, mid-drift tee shirts, or anything other than overalls, A sweater and a goose down parker zipped up to her throat. Movies with a strong romantic or sexual theme are to be avoided. Movies which feature chain saw wielded on un-suspected teenagers by males of your agegroup or general appearance are ok. Hockey games are ok, old folks homes are better.

Mat and his mother...(I Got Slammed)
I called Mat today because he has several of my tools (Profiles of success, a few tapes, Rom 17...) and to see if he could send them back to me. I also wanted to take a pulse as well.
His Mother ripped into me. She said that I was untrustworthy, our business was a scam, and that all I was out for was myself. She said that I was offensive and that her Son trusts people that he shouldn't.
She also said that I was offensive. I asked her if I ever did anything to offend her. She said Many times. She said that I was way to familiar with her, her name is Mrs. Knowles, and not Barbara. .......
She said that all I want is her Son's money. I asked her when I ever asked him for his money. She said from the first day. I said that I never asked him for to pay me anything, and that I would help him make the money from the business. And I asked her how may times I came out there to help him? She said "You can't try to sell me on this".
She said that I should also tell this to Michele as well because she feels the same way about her.
I just told her that I thanked her for her honesty, and that all I wanted was to get my materials back. I asked her if she would make sure that they were sent back to me? She said that she would give Mat the message and that I was not to contact her again. I said "what if he doesn't return the materials to me", and she said "you can contact him by mail".
Man, what a lunatic! Her Son is 25 years old!!! Well, no treasure there.
I sent Michele an email telling her what her "friend's" mother said. I guess, she won't let him "play" with here anymore either.
You know, it just stinks when people feel this way when all you are doing is going out of your way, literally, to help them!

Not much happening...stalled by cheese and PN!
Well,
Not much going on because the last 2 weeks I have been consumed by cheese (pun intended) and Prior Notification. FDA has put into effect the last stage, so I have had to spend most of my time doing that, so haven't made any calls or anything.
My list is up to 70 names, so that is good, and I am pretty much ready to get started again. Of course, my belief is down right now, because of my inactivity. I am sure once I start making calls again, and start booking some meetings it will go up again. Amazing how activity really effects our attitude.
Talked to Michele yesterday. She is starting a desktop publishing business.......so her husband won't yell at her for being on the computer. I encouraged her to keep plugging away, but you know where this is heading.
Haven't heard from Mat in weeks. I will give him a call tonight to see if he can send me back my stuff, and to see how he is doing as well.
No response from Dan H. on my threatening letter, so I think I will let that one go.
Bill from Zinga is going very slow. He had to cancel Bill's meeting with him a few weeks ago, and has gotten busy at the store. BLA BLA... I suggested to him that he hand out the tape to his prospect and let me BAM. I will call him tomorrow to see how that is going.

Challenges at work
This week has been pretty much of a waste. I have had some major problems at Portside with FDA and the Prior Notice requirements, so I haven't been able to think straight, nor have I had any time to make any calls. I had to stay late most of the week. Hopefully, next week should be better.
Bill Hubbel cancelled Bill LeB aron's meeting Tuesday, because he had an emergency at home. We are still waiting for him to reschedule.
I haven't had any reply from Dan Harusa to my letter threatening law suit.
Monday I have a meeting to STP for Tom-Cheeseworks.
That's about it for now.

Tom-Cheeseworks
I called Cheeseworks and talked to Tom. He said that he didn't really talk to anyone but he had someone interested. His name is Rodney and he works at Cheeseworks. I called Rodney, and he is interested. He will come to Tom's house Monday for the meeting.
I then called Tom back and told him. I encouraged him to get more people to the meeting.

FT with Tom from Cheeseworks
Jane and I went to FT with Tom and Delores. They are excited. Or at least Tom is, Delores is willing to support him. It turns out that they are not married yet, but do plan on it.
His feeling is that we just need to get people to do $300 a month, and have them find the same and it will work. I don't think he is taking into account "PEOPLE", but theoretically, he is right.
I brought Jane with me so that they could both see how Jane and I work together even though she doesn't have that much time to put into it.
We booked am meeting next Monday to either STP or make calls. Excited about them.

Suing Dan Harusa???
I have been on the fence how to handle the situation with Dan Harusa and his bounced check. Bill had suggested very strongly that I sue him to make a point if nothing else. But I didn't want to do that, because I felt that I would get stuck in that negative trap, and not be able to let go of it. I figured that it would be better to just let it go and move on.
I have kept his check in the office, and checked with the bank every few days in the hopes that he would have the money in his account, and then I could resubmit it. NO LUCK.
Anyway, today I decided to start the process of small claims court. With Vinny's help, I filled out the form and printed it out to get it in the works. Today I sent him a letter with these copies of the suit, telling him if I didn't hear from him by 11/17, that I would submit the papers to the court. I will wait a week. If I don't hear back from him by next week, I will send another copy via certified mail return receipt requested. If nothing happens, then I will decide if I will take it to court or not.

Going Diamond with Cheese at Portside
Finally after years and years of getting 2-3 shipments a week from Anco Fine Cheese, they dumped their old broker and we are now getting 99% of their work. This week, I had 10 shipmnets from them.
This got me thinking about what we go through to go diamond. I handled their shipments well for 15 years, and finally after being consistant, I got all of their work. I don't know if you can see a relevancy there, but I liken it to what we have to do in the biz...persistance....which will eventually pay off.

Concerned about Mat and Michele
Mat and Michele missed Sunday's leadership, because it was too nice of a day, and Mat said that they would be late. I have spoken to Bill, and our concern is that Michele is using the biz as an excuse to get away and hang out with Mat. I don't think there is any hanky-panky going on, but it is still not right. Bill is rather annoyed, because he doesn't want Dave (Michele's husband) to get a bad feeling about the biz.
Anyway, I told Michele that she should stop picking up Mat, because there is no way that she can get him there on time to the meetings. There have been 3 different occasions where this has happened, and they just ended up hanging out. Anyway, Mat can use his Mothers' car and will come alone to the meeting tomorrow night, and Michele will meet he and I there. Let's see if he does come.
I spent some time with Bill From Zinga's corn patch tonight. I brought him a bag full of tapes, and just chatted with him. Bill LeBaron set up a meeting with him for next Thursday at 5:00 to STP for him. I think Bill will be good, because he is really taking the time to investigate it so that he can feel comfortable when he gets objections.

Transmission Blowout with Michele
Yesterday, Michele and I were on our way to STP for Mat, and her transmission died. We spent about a half hour on the roadside and missed the plan. Funny thing. She found a "flare" in her car for me to use, because I was waiving cars on to pass us. Can you believe one of them gave me the "finger"! Anyway, this was no ordinary flare. It was a square shaped thing about a quarter of an inch deep, with a star shap cut out of the middle. You just light the whole thing and put it down. The problem was that we didn't have any matches. We tried using the cigarette lighter but that didn't work. So we tried to light the instructions on fire with the cigarette lighter, but that didn't work. So I got the paper glowing with embers, and I was touching that to the flare blowing on it so that it heated up. I had smoke and sparks flying all over the place, but didn't work.
Then Michele said that there were some dry branches in the bushes and she suggested that I try to light one of them. So all I could see was starting a forest fire in Suffolk County.
Anyway, that didn't work either.

Bill-Zinga's corn patch..Finally someone with a pulse
Yesterday, I met Bill and his wife, Sarah from Zinga's corn patch. They live in Branchville, and own a fast food restaurant/ice cream shop. He is very interested. He has read all of Kiyosaki's books, and is looking to develop a system. In the past, he was involved in Excel Communications, which was a telecommunication MLM.
The problem was that, first of all, selling phone service was not easy, and secondly, his sponsor was in Florida, so he didn't have any support.
He is really excited, especially because Robert Kiyosaki endorses our business. So we are 3/4 of the way there with him. His concern is just about rejection and handling that. I will pull some tapes that will help him with that. His wife is a "hard sell" as he puts it, but she was impressed with the tapes I gave them from Kiyosaki (they listened to all 3 last night), so I am not concerned. He doesn't mind if she is not on board initially.
Last night after that meeting I met Michele and Mat and we helped Mat make calls. We booked 2 meetings for next week, and a potential third. Mat was very relaxed when making the calls. He did a really great job.
Tonight, I had a meeting with Junior to make calls. I got to Radio Shack and he said that he had to go directly home for some reason. I told him that he should have called me. Anyway, I got my first night pack back from him, so it wasn't a waste of time.
Tomorrow, I am meeting with Ray to get my other first night pack back, so I will have 2 of them back.

Financial stress and a little relief
Well, I talked to Bill LeBaron yesterady and talked to him about our current financial situation. I told him that we were about $2000.00 in the red, and that even though we have the Home Equity line for Chris' college education, and I could draw upon that, I felt that if we did, we were going down.
He understood that but asked what my options were. Not that many. He said that we have to cover our expenses. So basically, I decided that we would take 1000 and maybe another 1000 to cover us now. I am currenlty paying $300.00 monthly back. Bill suggested that I make it a goal to make and extra $100.00 per month with member or client sales, and then increase the payment accordingly.
I feel better knowing that it is not the worst thing in the world to do that.

Last night I had a fantastic plan with Peggy from Icepak. She is really excited, and has some great dreams. Following through with her next Wednesday. We'll see.

Very Frustrated
Did my morning Sunday ritual of doing the bankingl, and it is so bad right now. We are about $2000.00 in the red, and I haven't paid Nissan yet, which was due yesterday. I don't know what to do. Things just don't seem to be happening.
Went to the Cranford Street Fair today, because I am a new member with the chamber of commerce there for Free Advertising.

I just am really going to Contact everyone I Come in Contact with.Some good cold Contacts like Ray from Delta, And Earl from Radio ShacK seem promising.

Update:Well, I have been working with Michele with one of her prospects named Mat. He is 25 years old and lives with his parents. Nice kid. I Stp to him, and then ft with him after. He is VI and came to Leno's meeting this past Thursday.When i went to make calls last night he said that he cant get started because of his bleak financial situation. I suggested to him that he sell products and make the money to sign up. I told jim to think of it like this:You have a friend named Michele. She owns a store with hunreds of thousands of products. She has made a deal with you that you can sell anything in her store. She will sell it to at her cost, and you can sell it at retail. Whatever profit you make put aside, and use that to register in the biz.He really liked that idea, and his mother wants to but products too.

well, not much going on. Struggling to make calls.Michele is doing Well. again, she is already at 100 PV. I have set up new reward for making calls & getting contacts. If I get 5 new cards, or make 5 calls in a day, I get to download a 99 cent song from iTunes for my IPAQ.Still trying to get 15 plans this month. Never heard from Dan C.I got a call from Huntsinger Monday night. We got together Tuesday so I could teach him about the boxes. I think it was a waste of time, because I dont think he will do anything. I suggested that he get around the system as much as possible. He is STILL hung up on prices. But look who he is listening to...Richard. A broke school teacher for 19 years. Mat (Michele) had to work Thursday night, so he had to cancel our meeting. I will touch base with him Sunday to remind him about Leno on Thursday.

Well, Dan was supposed to meet me on Friday, and come to the business conference Sat night. He was going to call me Friday lunch time to let me know where to meet him at 3:30, and I never heard from him. He also didn't show up on Saturday. PEOPLE.
Anyway, Michele and I made phone calls Monday night, and she is rather scared, but I think she will be fine. She did 300 PV!! That is fantastic.
Ambulance analagy:
She asked me how do you get over the feeling of being a telemarketer. Now she is an EMT. She said that when she is in the ambulance, it makes her think that she is helping people. I asked her if she was driving down the road in an ambulance, and there were people all over the place bleeding, would she stop and help them. Would she feeling like she was taking advantage of them? Of course she said no, she wouldn't feel bad and she would stop.
I said that the people we talk to are also bleeding and hurt, but just not outwardly. If she could understand that people need this biz, then she could see this as a type of ambulance for inward needs.

....So he said that he had to go to a job in Penn. Saturday and didn't have long distance service on his phone, so he hasn't talked to anyone all week. He didn't even know that I had called him.
I explained what happened and why I thought what I thought. He understood, and said that he wants to get together with me on Friday. Boy am I relieved! I really thought something was wrong, as it wasn't like him (not that I really know him) to do that.

Bill suggested that if I don't hear back from Dan Charusa in the next 2 days to take him to small claims court. We'll see.....
Last night I STP to Mara from ISI america and she brought a co-worker Francesca. They were very excited, and we had a great dream session. I was going to pick them up and bring them to Rick's meeting tonight. But as usual, Mara cancelled today. She said she couldn't afford it. I asked what she meant, she said she just couldn't do it. I cautioned them about talking to people last night, but you know what happens.
Anyway, I haven't gotten a cancellation from Michele for tonight, so hopefully she will be coming. Excited about her. She did 160 PV so far this month.
FUNNY STORY: When I was on my way into the city last night, the parking attendant wanted to check my trunk. I have one Big box and 2 small boxes. He looks around for a couple or seconds, and then asks me what I have in the box. I told him Energy drinks, etc. He said, ok because the box says EXPLOSION on it. (It says Health Explosion). LOL

DISGUSTED!!
Today I found out that Dan Chauruza cancelled/bounced his check to me for the registration fee ($209.00)! I was worried about this since I hadn't heard from him at all.
I sent him a phone message and email telling him that I wanted him to return the products and I was going to cancel his IBOship. I left Bill a message asking if I should wait unitl I get the check back to see the reason for the check bouncing.
I am really disappointed!! You know, when you finally find someone who sounds reaaly good...going to sell water treatment systems, putting people in front of me...business man...you get really excited. And to be slammed not only by him quitting, but getting burned really sucks. Touch to pull out of this one, but I will!!

Well, we had the meeting last night where Nick taught us about the boxes (XS). I don't know what happened to Dan Charusa, I guess he's another one who joined and fell off the face of the earth.
He signed up Thursday, and was supposed to call me on Friday to confirm that it was ok for me to deposit his check. I didn't hear from him. He said that he might have someone who would want to see the plan, and I offered him Saturday. He said he would call me. I didn't hear from him. I left a message on Sunday night telling him that I wanted to confirm my schedule for the week and to see if he needed me. I also confirmed about yesterdays meeting. Didn't hear from him.
Who knows, did he talk to someone???? What tragedy befell him or his family.
After the meeting, Christopher (who came with us) asked how people quit the business. I said they join with us, and the rest happens automatically.
